Garden Tiger Moth on Mustard Yellow Velvet

This garden tiger moth is beautifully mounted in a 10x10cm frame on a mustard yellow velvet background. A well-loved resident across the UK, this striking nocturnal species is scientifically known as Artica caja. It is easily recognised by its chunky appearance and its dramatic chocolate-brown and cream patterned forewings, which look exceptionally rich against the mustard yellow velvet texture. When threatened, the moth flashes its bright orange hindwings covered in deep blue-black spots, creating a bold, natural contrast that perfectly complements the dark velvet display.
