This Java leaf insect is beautifully mounted in an 18x18cm frame on a plain white background. Native to the tropical forests of Indonesia, this spectacular specimen is scientifically known as Pulchriphyllium bioculatum. It is highly prized by collectors for its unparalleled ability to mimic the natural world around it. The insect is characterised by a wide, flattened body intricately veined to replicate foliage, including this specimen featuring distinct areas of brown and green that perfectly mirror a real leaf in a state of natural decay. This incredible lifelike camouflage contrasts sharply with the white backing, turning an extraordinary example of evolutionary adaptation into a striking work of natural art.
